About Us
Authentic Safari Co. is based in South Africa’s diverse Eastern Cape and owned and operated by professional hunter Brad Birkholtz.
There is a certain feeling one searches for when coming to Africa.
Not merely the pursuit of game, but the experience of vast landscapes, open skies, and a rhythm of life untouched by haste.
Unhurried mornings.
Long days in wild country.
Evenings beside the fire, where stories are shared and the day settles quietly into memory.
This is not a production hunt, nor a hurried itinerary.
Authentic Safari Co. is a small, experience-focused operation devoted to delivering deeply personal safaris. Every hunt is personally guided, ensuring each experience is shaped by the land, the season, and the individual behind the rifle.
Across South Africa’s most remarkable landscapes — the Eastern Cape, Free State, and Northern Cape — hunting remains honest, unhurried, and deeply rewarding.
Every safari is intentionally crafted.
Every client is welcomed as a guest and leaves as a friend, rather than just a booking.
For those who value atmosphere as much as achievement.
Welcome to Africa as it should be.
Easy and Convenient Travel
Reaching your safari is both straightforward and efficient.
From the USA or Canada, guests may arrive via either Cape Town or Johannesburg. The Eastern Cape is conveniently accessed from both hubs, with a comfortable domestic flight of approximately one hour and thirty minutes.
From Europe, UK or Australia guests will typically fly into Johannesburg, followed by a short connecting flight to your chosen hunting region.
Upon arrival, lodge transfers are scenic, relaxed, and carefully coordinated to ensure a seamless transition from travel to safari.
Eastern Cape – Fly into East London Airport, followed by a comfortable 2–3 hour lodge transfer through beautiful and varied countryside.
Free State – Fly into Kimberley or Bloemfontein Airports, with lodge transfers ranging from 1–3 hours across wide open plains.
Northern Cape – Fly into Kimberley Airport, followed by lodge transfers of 1–4 hours through the striking landscapes of the Karoo and Kalahari regions.
From the moment you land, every detail is managed with care, allowing you to settle into the rhythm of Africa with ease and peace of mind.
